Yes. Since January 2025, Tanzania requires all visitors (except some East African Community member nationals) to obtain an e-Visa before arrival — visa on arrival is no longer available. You’ll need a passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank pages, a passport photo, your flight itinerary, and proof of accommodation. Tourist single-entry e-Visas cost around $50, though this varies by nationality and visa type. Apply through the official portal at visa.immigration.go.tz, ideally at least 10 business days before travel.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you’re arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Tanzania itself is considered low-risk for yellow fever exposure.
